The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 passed by Congress on January 1, 2013, signed into law by President Obama on January 2, 2013 offers individuals 70 ½  years or older several ways to make tax-free gifts of IRA assets to Capital for both 2012 and 2013.

To benefit from this gift opportunity, the following qualifications must be met:

You must be age 70 ½ or older at the time of transfer.

The maximum amount you may transfer is $100,000 per year.

The gift must be outright. Gifts to donor advised funds or to life income vehicles do not qualify.

The gift must be transferred directly from the IRA account by the IRA administrator to Capital University.

If you have any questions regarding the charitable IRA rollover, or how to make a planned gift to Capital, please contact the Office of Planned Giving at pgo@capital.edu or 614-236-6496.
