Since its dedication Homecoming Weekend 2007, the beautiful Plaza at Mound Street quickly became a place for the Capital community to come together. To celebrate the long-awaited closure of Mound Street and the creation of the plaza, the Alumni Advisory Board instituted an ongoing campaign to give alumni and friends the opportunity to leave their mark on campus.
Meet Me on The Plaza: A Place to Connect
As a friend of Capital University, you are invited to join us in our celebration of the closure of Mound Street. Since its completion, The Plaza at Mound Street has become a place where people gather, share and interact with one another.
As bricks provide strength and integrity to a structure, alumni and friends provide strength and integrity to the institutions that helped them shape their lives. By buying a brick, you have a unique opportunity to leave a legacy that will be enjoyed by future generations of Capital students.
You can choose a message to be engraved on one of the three sizes of pavers that will be placed on The Plaza at Mound Street. Choose to engrave your name and graduation year, the day you married your Capital sweetheart or the day your child was born.
You must place your order by June 1. The new engraved pavers will be unveiled Homecoming Weekend.

If you would like to be part of The Plaza at Mound Street and would prefer to pursue a special opportunity, for $10,000 you can choose to engrave a plaque marking one of 10 benches that will grace the plaza. If you are interested in a contribution to mark a bench, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement toll free at (866) 544-6180. Availability for benches is limited and requests will be honored as they are received.
You may choose one of three styles/sizes of bricks:
- 4" x 8" pavers $ 100
- 8" x 8" pavers $ 250
- 12" x 12" pavers $ 500
*Please note: Characters include numbers, spaces and punctuation. All letters are uppercase. Greek letters also are available. Brick placement will be random.
