About This Event

Nema Saleem-Green is passionate about the power of finding activities you enjoy doing to truly begin taking care of yourself. What daily habits are you creating for yourself that you will pour your energy into focusing on each day? In her discussion, Nema will share practical tips she has found to be helpful to support realistic self-care and effective management of mood in general, especially over the past year.; Be sure to bring a writing utensil and paper with you as she plans to help us all brainstorm personal ideas that work for us as well.

Nema Saleem-Green is the new Program Manager at the East Cleveland Neighborhood Center (ECNC) where she will be planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating assigned ECNC programs and services around educational enrichment, prevention, emotional wellness, and social emotional learning. She previously worked at the Centers for Families and Children (CFC) providing behavioral health counseling and art therapy services to individuals and groups, as well as facilitating staff wellness activities. She is currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Supervision Designation (LPCC-S) and a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC), as well as a Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

About This Event

Join Dr. Kacie Vavrek, adjunct instructor of Health & Sports Sciences, as she explains the basics of nutrition. Nutrition is essential for health and well-being. Eating a healthy diet contributes to preventing future illness and improving quality and length of life. Despite being such an important topic there is often confusion and misinformation when it comes to nutrition.This presentation will review general healthy eating topics and trends in nutrition while helping to debunk common nutrition myths.
