About This Event

Susan Gilles, John E. Sullivan Professor of Law will talk about her innovative “casebook” Click & Learn: Civil Procedure (C&L:CP) written with co-authors Professors Angela Upchurch and Cynthia Ho and published in 2020 by Carolina Academic Press. C&L:CP is an online interactive program. It provides students with thousands of objective questions and answers at varied levels (beginner through mastery level) on Civil Procedure. Students receive immediate and detailed formative feedback on their performance, deepening their understanding of Civil Procedure with a comprehensive explanation of every answer option. C&L does not provide a short-cut for students or a dumbed-down version of Civil Procedure. Students are encouraged to develop their rule, statutory and case reading skills and are challenged to deepen their understanding by applying what they have learned to new fact patterns. Because of its use of varied questions, it both assists and supports students who are struggling and other challenges top students. Its launch during Covid-19 led to its adoption in multiple law schools across the country because it provides an essential companion to online teaching. By assigning C&L:CP faculty able to track student performance and obtain reports showing student engagement outside of class.
